Remembering NoNo...

Today is the first anniversary of my NoNo passing away. It is hard to believe it has been an entire year without him. The comforting thing is that we have all had many moments over the past year which remind us that NoNo is still with us. I often look at photos with the two of us, and say NoNo and point to him. I have even said such things as NoNo in Heaven.
NoNo will forever be in our hearts! We love him, and miss him so very much!

My Very First Frosty The Snowman!!!

It has basically snowed or been cloudy and cold in our area for over a week now. Very strange, but we need the water.

Actually, yesterday was a really nice day!!! My mommy took me to get a haircut and we walked around the outdoor mall for a couple of hours. Ducking our heads into Old Navy and Baby Gap. I even took my coat off at one point. I told my mommy the sun felt nice. I'm really, really starting to use my words and forming 5-8 word sentences. I loved climbing and counting all the stairs I walked up. I went up and down a set of 10 stairs about three times, but alas, this morning we woke up to about 4 new inches of snow.

I put on all my snow gear and we headed outside. My daddy swept the snow in the driveway this time, and my mommy and I made a snowman! My very first snowman. This is the first time the snow was wet enough to really pack. Whatever that means. I trust my mommy knows what she is talking about. I was really excited watching my mommy roll the ball around the yard. We ran into a big problem with trying to find the snowman some arms. I gave up trying and told my mommy I was cold and wanted to go in the house. It is fun to have a 'Buddy' back in the yard again, even if he doesn't have arms...

I Want to See...

In the past few weeks, I have decided that I must be involved in all action that takes place in the kitchen. I want to be involved in all cooking, cutting, and washing that takes place. I have a little step stool that I leave in my bathroom so I can wash my hands, but when there is action in the kitchen I go and get my little stool and put it down right in the middle of the action.

When the parents are away, baby Jake will play, with every single toy I have! I better get this place cleaned up before my parents come home...

Doctor, doctor...give me the news

Well, after a week of telling Mr. Cold to get out of my nose, my mommy decided it was time to visit my pediatrician. Turns out I have tonsillitis. Tonsil what???
This is my first illness besides the common kid colds and ear infection. My mommy seemed to know right away what the doctor was talking about, and even took a peek into my mouth with the doctor. I also have a double ear infection. This is the 3rd one in my 2 years of life. Not too terribly bad. Needless to say, I have to take an antibiotic for 10 days...yuck!
Today at the doctor I weighed in at 28lbs (48th percentile) and 35" tall (65th percentile)...growing like a weed! Oh ya, and the doctor was very impressed with my vocabulary.

Okay, we are over it now!

As the title of this blog suggests, I have a cold in my nose. I had to leave school early on Monday and my daddy stayed home with me today. We watched some movies and had a very low key day. I decided that I needed an early bedtime this evening to snuggle with my teddy bear and sip some water in the peace and quiet of my room. As my mommy and daddy gave me kisses goodnight, with cotton balls in my ears and Vapor rub on my chest, I announced 'Get out of my nose...Mr. Cold!' It was really funny!

This past weekend was really fun. We went to a birthday party for my friend Charles who turned three. It was at Coconut Bowl in the Ballocity. It was great! We got to climb, throw balls and slide down really big slides. Of course, my mommy forgot the camera. This problem is now been solved by my daddy who purchased a camera for my mommy so she can keep it in her purse at all times! Yahoo, let the stalking begin...

Sunday was a big football day! My daddy and I wore our matching Cowboys shirts and cheered on the team. It didn't help! They lost and my daddy was very sad...guess there is always next year! Bring on baseball! Football season is almost done!

Veggie Tales

For about six months I have decided that I'm not crazy about veggies. I will eat corn, but accept for the occasional pea, I'm pretty much done with veggies. My mommy thinks this is odd because I used to eat a lot of veggie baby food. Almost every night my mommy prepares a new veggie and every night I choose not to eat it. Well, I'm happy to report after my veggie strike last night I enjoyed a couple of tomato slices (I also tried pickle, and announced 'Don't like that') and tonight I had broccoli. Not just a couple bites of broccoli but a whole bowl. I even said it was yummy! I could be turning a whole new leaf!

Snow Day!!!

Yesterday we had a lot of rain. In fact, the roof at my daycare did not fair well with all the wind and rain so my grandma had to come and pick me up early. My mommy then came to pick me up at grandma and grandpa's house around 4:30. Our drive through Washoe Valley was really ugly. My mommy was very tense, but we made it home safe and sound. I think if this type of storm ever happens again we will just be staying at grandma's house.

Well this morning, I woke up to a winter wonderland! It was very exciting! It is probably the most snow I have ever seen at one time in the yard. My daddy had to clear some area in the backyard for the doggies. It was funny because my daddy put these huge glasses on. I laughed! Apparently, they are snow goggles for skiing. He was being very silly. The dogs were so excited to see the snow, and had a blast running around and jumping in it.

I watched him and then announced 'I want to help' followed by 'I will go get my hat'! I then appeared wearing my George Washington General cap with my mittens. This made my mommy start laughing. Then I got my big winter coat on and my duckie hat which I insisted on wearing, and was able to go outside and frolic for a bit. I ate some snow, and even helped my daddy shovel some snow in the driveway. It was COLD and windy!!! So we only stayed out a few minutes but it was a blast. If the wind wasn't whipping than we could have went for a walk, but the wind made conditions miserable. Maybe tomorrow!

It is getting cloudy and snowy again!!!

Dog Days of Winter

The weather outside is frightful, but our puppies are clearly delightful!

Munchkin decided that she needed some snuggle time with Wylie on his bed. Looks pretty cozy to me!
