I want to Read you A Story

My mommy and daddy have been reading to me since, well since I was in my mommy's tummy, and the other night while getting tucked into my big boy bed I announced to my parents that I wanted to read them a story! Of course my mommy ran to get the camera. Nothing says love like a camera in your face 24/7.
I decided I would read them a story about Elmo's home run. This book has a baseball attached to it that you can squeak. What could be more fun??? I took the book and opened to the first page and started to tell my parents about the 'big run' and how that was a 'good run Elmo' and all about the baseball including 'swing the bat now Big Bird'. All the while, I was squeaking the ball, and turning the pages and then finally, I announced 'The End'!
I'm developing quite the imagination!

Your Still the One...

Bri,

I don’t know if I have ever told you, but the very first time I met you, my heart skipped a beat and after eight years of being your wife, and 13 years of being your friend, you still make my heart skip a beat. We have overcame obstacles, but through it all, you still know how to make me laugh like no one else. You are the very first person I want to share my good and bad news with. You make me see that ‘I can’ when all I think is ‘I can’t’. Seeing you at the end of the day is one of my favorite times. Your smile makes me happy. Your patience and kindness inspire me. You truly make me a better person. I can't imagine my life without you in it. You are an amazing father and an equally amazing husband, and I’m so lucky to have created this wonderful and charmed life with YOU!

Happy 8th Anniversary honey, I love you!

My baby just isn't a baby anymore...

I know I have said this a thousand-and-one times, but this past week has firmed up my thought that my baby Jake just isn't a baby anymore. The other night he announced at bed time that he wanted to sleep in his 'big boy bed'. Off he went and hasn't looked back. It is the big boy bed or nothing, so we are making plans on turning his 'big boy room' into one of his favorite things...balls and sports. So far we have the bed arranged. It will all come together very soon.
Also, Jake has been wearing his 'under roos' all week. Yep, we have officially said goodbye to diapers and pull ups except at night. He looks so cute in his little Elmo, Buzz Lightyear, and Scooby Doo pants. We have had a few accidents, but he is doing so well, and seems so proud of himself. We don't need to mention how proud we are of all of Jacob's accomplishments.
It is bittersweet feeling planning to paint and decorate a new room, and to say goodbye to a baby room that we put so much love and time into decorating and making sure each decoration and item was perfect, for our perfect baby boy. I'm going to miss not having time with my baby boy on his changing table. Even when he was the tiniest little man, we would read, play and talk on his changing table.
All of this just reminds me how fast time is passing by, and how with each step Jake is turning into an amazing independent little boy. Cheers to the next step!!!

Chuck E. Cheese

Tonight my mommy and daddy took me to meet some of my school buddies at Chuck E. Cheese. This was my first time visiting a Chuck E. Cheese and we had a great time. It was much different than either one of my parents remember and there were TONS of other people and that was a bit overwhelming for all of us. I climbed in a big tube structure, became a clock, shot some hoops, and road in a car.
We ate pizza and tolled around for about two hours. Big highlight of the night...walking next door to Toys R Us and getting some new toys!!!

Why...Why....why....Why....Why....Why!!!

We have officially entered the 'why' stage. I need to ask 'why' with everything. I asked my mommy 'why' a total of 25 times on the way to school this morning.
Sometimes it is even the same why question over and over. Why, you may ask? Because I need to know why we drive past tractors and big trucks on the way to school. Why we go one direction in the car verses another way. Why a motorcycle is so loud. Why my daddy goes to work. Why our car needs gasoline. Why I go to school. Why I must wear clothes to school. Why...why...why... all of which someone has tried to give me a detailed answer to.

Then if my mommy asks me why when I tell her something. I simply answer...because!

Funny, funny little man

So to me this was totally funny. The other night we are traveling home, and Jacob announces to me that he is a 'big boy', and that daddy is a 'big boy' also. Then he said that mommy was a 'baby' and small and so is Munchkin. To top the comment off Jacob announced, "I want to hold you like a baby, mommy!'
Too funny!
When we got home Jacob was serious when he requested to hold me like a baby. It was funny!
We all had a good laugh!

Dance...Dance...

My mommy and daddy have a Wii. I have never actually seen the Wii in action till today when my mommy pulled out this mat to play Dance Dance Revolution. I was very intrigued by the mat and started to jump on it. My mommy decided to give me a helping hand and bounced me from side to side to the music. It was a blast!

Wylie....whatcha doin???

Tonight while we were getting dinner ready I turned around and caught Wylie napping. Now, Wylie napping isn't anything new, but Wylie napping on a small table in the living room is, and it made us all laugh and laugh. He seemed pretty darn comfy up there on that little table.

Celebration of Mother's Day at School....

I invited my mommy for a Mother's Day celebration at school today. We made a votive candle holder, enjoyed a snack and surprised her with a gift. We also got to hang out on the playground which, I love!

Under Construction...

This week is shaping up to be very chaotic around my house. Currently this is what the kitchen looks like. There was a problem with part of the granite being cracked, so the home builder has had to tear it all out and is in the process of replacing it. There has been people in and out of our house the past two days, working on it. The new granite will be a darker shade of green. We all hope that it looks pretty, but anything will look better than it does right now! Not to mention that even getting a glass of water has proved to be difficult.
