Where the heck are we, family?




Today I went with my parents to what I thought might be the 'haircut' place. Same parking lot and everything, but low and behold, they took me to the GIGANTIC building next door. It was huge. I have seen it before, but never really understood what was behind the glass doors. After a brief moment of my dad fiddling with this machine...three tickets appeared. My daddy handed me one and the glass door opened and WOW! It was huge and smelt good. Lots of people moving around.
I was at the movie theater!!! My parents have never taken me to such a place before now, but today seemed like a prime day for an indoor adventure (still thick smoke from all the California fires). I proudly handed the usher my ticket and he point us in the right direction. I wanted to go to the very top row of seats.
I was in awwww of how large the screen was and with my 'Rivers' keen hearing, thought it was a little loud. I told my mommy next time I will need 'ear plunks'. The movie had a good 30 mins of previews, so when the actual movie stated I only had about a 45 min attention span. I didn't know I had it in me to be quiet for a whole 45 mins...unless asleep. I asked my parents very politely if we could leave. Knowing my parents the way I do, and knowing that they wouldn't want a scene, one that I was willing to put on at a moments notice, I knew we would get to leave. So as we left the darken movie theater I proudly waved and said 'bye-bye Wall*E, thank you!'
Who knows when we will try the movie thing again. I hope it is soon and I hope it is Kung Fu Panda!

I Love Animals...especially soft furry baby animals...

Yesterday, my mommy was out watering her flowers when a little cottontail bunny hopped into the front yard. She was able to get my daddy, who in turn got me, without scaring the bunny away. I loved watching him, and he watched me, eventually he hopped away. My daddy and I then walked down the street and spotted the bunny again. He then hopped away, and we couldn't find him again!

When we were leaving to watch the fireworks my mommy spotted the bunny in our neighbor's yard by a bush in the shade. I made sure to tell my mommy and daddy to 'Shhhhhhh' and be very quiet and kind while watching the bunny! I went over and blew the bunny a kiss and then after a few minutes I waved goodbye to him.

Fireworks for Independence Day!

Tonight I went with my mommy, daddy, grandma and grandpa out to dinner and then to see the fireworks in downtown Sparks. We decided we didn't want to mess with all the traffic and people downtown so we went to the Sparks Marina. It was perfect! We were able to see all the action and didn't have to worry about wearing earplugs or being mobbed by tons of people.

I was so excited to see the fireworks. For the two hours leading up to the fireworks I kept asking everyone 'Where did the fireworks go?' This was the first Independence day we have celebrated by staying up late for the fireworks. I was very tired on the way home and ended up sleeping till 10 Saturday morning!

The four J's at BJ's...

Tonight we went to dinner at BJ's to benefit the Big Brother, Big Sister program. The restaurant was packed for a good cause. I had a lot of fun. There were a total of 13 of us, and that included Josh, Jordan, and Jonathan. You may remember that when I was an itty bitty guy Gretchen watched me a couple days a week along with, 'the boys'. The boys are Amy's nephews and everyone always laughed because it was the 'four J's'! They are the reason I'm referred to as 'Baby Jake'. It was a lot of fun seeing them again. All though, I had to take a few minutes to not be shy. Jordan who is now 4 was a blast. We had sort of an open area by our table and we were dancing, he was tickling me and then we even posed for a picture.

I'm really getting into playing and wanting to hang out with older kids, including the kids next door. I hope I get to see the J's again soon!!!

I'm 2 and a half now!!!!

Can you believe that I'm now two and a half? I'm quite the big boy! To be exact, I'm 36.5" tall and 29 lbs. Getting bigger everyday!

Big Boy Room Complete...well almost...

You may remember a couple of weeks ago when I decided that I wanted to sleep in my 'big boy' bed. Well, after a few weeks of a lot of hard work, my big boy room is done, well almost. My mommy wants to put up and orange valance, but can't seem to find just the right shade of orange, so my GG may make something. Also, I have one wall that my mommy thinks needs 'something' on it. What that might be...who knows. Other than that, my room is complete. I'm really enjoying it!
A lot of people have asked what will now happen to my 'baby room' and are you ready: It will be used for my new baby....just kidding...it is now a toy room. Okay, so maybe that was just mean, but my 'baby room' makes for an awesome toy room with plenty of room for all my toys. Other than a few finishing touches on my room we have been laying really low this weekend. I have a double ear infection and had to go see Dr. Smith the other day. After a few nights of antibiotics, good sleep and lazy days with three hour naps I'm feeling a little bit human again. Hope you enjoy the pictures of my room transformation.

I'm becoming quite the little man with all sorts of funny sayings. Everyone just wonders...where do I come up with stuff???

Just in case you can't figure out what I'm saying to the camera, here is the translation: " A guys got to do, what a guys got to do!' Notice how much emphasis I place on 'DO' at the end. Funny, huh?
