Goodbye Grandma Taylor

It is with a heavy heart that I announce my great-grandma Taylor passed away early this morning. You may remember just reading about her 90th birthday party that my mommy and I attended just two or three posts down.
Shortly after the party she fell ill.
My great-grandma Taylor lived an amazing life traveling the world and was, as my mommy likes to say 'A woman before her time' with dreams of college, working outside the home before it was common place, and always holding true to her beliefs even when many wouldn't agree.
She was an amazing woman who will be very missed by everyone in our family, but we are all happy that she and her one true love, Grandpa Taylor are now back together again.

The Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch today. We went with the Conforti family and this year we tried the patch off of Rock Blvd which is an actual working pumpkin farm. It was pretty cool, there were a ton of pumpkins, animals (eating pumpkins) and a bounce house. It was pretty darn warm and very bright. I played in the bounce house and this tether ball game where you tried to knock down the scary guys.

I picked out three big pumpkins and two little ones. I picked out the perfect little one for my baby brother and told him later through my mommy's belly button, which I'm sure is a direct line to my baby brother that I will give it to him as soon as he comes out. As for the rest of them I just want to cut them up and 'make something' out of them, possibly a toy...interesting.

We decorated around the house for fall and Halloween over the weekend, and I'm so excited about my costume. This year I'm going to Megatron from the Transformers. This is first year I will have the whole 'little boy' and not a 'baby' costume. All though last year was close, this year I have the whole costume with a mask...it is fun!

New Blog

Well, after much deliberation my mommy has decided to leave my blog and start a new blog for my baby brother. You can find a link to it under the 'Blogs worth Checking Out' section of my blog titled 'This Little Brother's Life', and there is a link to bring you back to my blog when you are finished. Understand this is a work in progress at this point, so things will be changing (possibly even the name) when my brother is born, so check it out if you would like, and start learning about our newest family addition.

Baby Rivers 32 week ultrasound

Today my mommy and daddy took at peak at my baby brother. Only about 8 or so weeks left till his arrival! My parents did the same thing for me, except for one hitch...I cooperated. My baby brother hid his face the entire time and never once offered a glimpse into what he might look like. Boo!
Everything else about my baby brother looks happy and healthy. He is measuring about 6 days ahead of my mommy's due date. Of course this really means nothing because we all know babies arrive when they want to. They are saying his weight is about 4.6lbs and he has a big ol' head...scary! Again all averages. My mommy just needs to stay calm. We are all just happy he is healthy and growing right on schedule, I do think my mommy was a little disappointed that she didn't get even a glimpse of his little face.
For some reason about a minute of our last ultrasound end up on this video, but it is a still shot, after pushing the play arrow to the left, just use the bar to scroll over about a minute in time to get to the most recent stuff.

Saturday at the Coconut Bowl

Today was my new friend Daniel's birthday party. He is celebrating the big 4 this year! All my friends from my new school were there.

We were all very excited for the upcoming party and seeing each other outside of school. I have been talking about this party all week. I even told Daniel what I got him as a birthday present, it felt so much better to get the surprise off my chest. As Shrek would say 'It is better out than in!'

We all had a blast climbing, sliding, swinging, eating pizza and cake, and just tearing around. Even my teachers came to the party to join in the fun.

All the parents were having a tough time taking pictures because we are so fast, but here are a few. My daddy was able to come into the Ballocity, but my mommy 8 months pregnant could not.

I got to bowl and play some games, and were scary vampire teeth...it was a great afternoon and in the end, I was tired!

Great- Grandma Taylor's 90th Birthday!!!

My great-grandma Taylor celebrated her 90th birthday on Friday! Can you even imagine the life she has seen?

We have a very large family and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming when we all get together so she had two parties! One on Friday and one on Saturday. My mommy and me celebrated the occasion with family on Saturday night. It was a lot of fun! Happy Birthday Great-Grandma Taylor, we love you!

Six Flags Adventure

This weekend my grandma and grandpa took me and my family to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA. We drove down early Saturday morning and the day became very hot and humid, but we had a great time! I rode all sorts of rides with no fear. I even rode on my first roller coaster...kid sized of course. My mommy was a little worried that I wouldn't like it, but I'm pretty much game for anything when my daddy is along for the ride. My mommy couldn't go on any rides, even Thomas the Train which went 5mph and in a big circle. All the rides had sighs that announced ladies with babies in their tummy's were not welcome. I fortunately was tall enough for most of the rides geared towards kids and everyone but mommy took turns riding with me. I did get to ride some alone which was really fun because I'm a big boy!
I watched the dolphin show in amazement and the whale show, but I wanted 'Shamu' not 'Shuka' the whale. We saw all sorts of animals and I even pointed out the hammer-head shark at the shark display. We stayed all day till the park closed and we had to leave.
We spent the night in Vallejo and were all dog tired, but the next morning we played in the pool and enjoyed the marginally cooler temperatures of the morning. We had a great time! I can't wait to go back. Thanks grandma and grandpa.
