15 Month Check-up!

Today I had my 15 month check up! Can you believe it??? I'm currently 24 lbs and 30.5" tall. That puts me in the 50th and 40th percentile, respectively. That means I have gained 16.5 lbs and 10" since my birth.
I had 7 shots today and that stunk for about 2 minutes. I'm at the stage were I can bat things away and wiggle so both my parents had to hold my hands, as well as, a second nurse to take care of my feet. My mommy rubbed my belly and was giving me kisses during the whole thing and Destiny was very quick about all of it. I walked out of the exam room with my head held high (no tears) and a Scooby Doo sticker on my sweater! I later tried to eat the sticker when my mom wasn't looking!
Dr. Smith was really happy with all my accomplishments the last 15 months. He asked my parents lots of questions about my development and had lots of interaction with me, finally he said I was just perfect.

Good news! No more shots till I'm 4...

Hey, Let Me Outta Here!

With my new found freedom of walking, my parents have started changing the house again. Doors that once opened no longer do. I use to have free range but now there is a gate that keeps me from the outside world. I see my parents leave and try as I might, my doggie and I can't seem to follow. I feel like a prisoner in my own home, but don't feel to sorry for me, I still have lots of area to roam around and cause havoc. My parents are working on the backyard and we all hope by next weekend the patio will be complete. Then I will be able (weather permitting of course) to go outside and run around. It is my new favorite thing to do. I realized yesterday there is a little boy right next door who is two years old. Maybe I can invite him over to play one day!

Lazy Boy!

My Grandma and GG came over for a vist today and brought me a present! My very first big boy chair. It looks like a Lazy Boy recliner, but it doesn't recline. It does however rock! It also has Safari animals on it which, I don't think are in the new Lazy Boy collection, but I was having a great time climbing all around the chair and sitting in it. I was rocking it and then using it as a slide. I would slide off of it and then 'thump' onto the floor. I was having a great time. The chair is now next to my mommy and daddy's recliner in the living room and we both can sit and rock. I sit for about one minute at a time, but my mommy gave me a blanket to snuggle while I sit in the chair. I really, really like it! Thanks Grandma and GG...

I'm ready for my Close Up!!!

Today I showed my parents my new talent for emulating actions. My mommy was giving me a tubby this morning and I decided to pick up my bottle of bubble bath and act like I was pouring it into my ducky spout cover like I have seen my mommy and daddy do a thousand times. I was having a great time playing and pretending to pour the bubbles into the ducky's shower cap and then closing the lid.

Then tonight when my mommy and daddy were getting me ready for bed I picked up my face moisture stick and pretended to put it on my face like they do every night.

Very fun!!!

Saturday Night and I'm going to Party!

I'm going to a party! Yep, I'm going to get down with older kids and some younger kids. We are going to climb the walls and swing from the chandeliers. We will eat some cake and drink juice boxes to our heart's content...I will be up late and the whole thing will rock!

Okay before you call CPS on my parents I actually attended Vasa's 2nd birthday party at Gymboree Play and Music. It was as you can see a really neat place where you can run around and the walls are padded and there are fun activities for all kids and even parents. I had a great time playing with a basketball hoop, sliding down different kinds of slides and being pushed around on a 'scooter'. I had a really good time and was pretty tired when the party was over at 7:30 p.m.

Playing at School and other Fun Facts

It has been a while since I have blogged much so I thought I would catch everyone up to speed on how great life is as a 14 month old toddler.
Hmmm, lets see....

I'm working really hard at saying hi to people. Even on the phone. It comes out more like a high-pitched HHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIII!
I'm also trying to say doggie, ball, grandpa and thank you. All of these are my own versions of the actual words.

I now wave hello and bye-bye with great ease as well as walking like a champ (say hello to baby proofing the house). I'm almost running. I have some great Nike shoes my grandma gave me.

I have nine teeth now and one is a molar. That has been no fun cutting for anyone involved.

I'm throwing a ball overhand to people, but I haven't caught onto catching the ball.

I have enjoyed the wonderful warm weather we have had by playing outside in the Turtles play yard at school. I'm having a great time and love being outside. Mommy and daddy are currently working on our backyard so I can go out and play really soon.

I spent 10 days with my grandma, grandpa and GG while my parents had work trips. My mommy had to go to Atlanta, GA and my daddy Washington D.C. the following week. My mommy celebrated her birthday in Atlanta by going to the aquarium with my daddy. They brought me back a penguin and a shirt, as well as, a hat from Mt. Vernon. I got my mommy a laptop for her birthday. She is having a great time with it. I think I did well with the help of my daddy in the gift giving department.

Petting Munchkin!

As you know I love my puppy Munchkin. My mommy and daddy have helped me give her treats and pet her since I was a few days old. Well, after 10 days of not seeing my puppy I was so excited to see her that I gave her a really nice pet verses the usual hard pat she has come to love from me. I'm gaining more and more hand and arm control and this is a true example of this. She really enjoyed the soft pet and I laughed because her hair was so soft and felt funny between my fingers. My mommy tried desperately to get a picture of me petting Munch, but I just wouldn't cooperate, so he is a picture of us rolling around on the floor together having fun and of me just being goofy. Oh, I love that dog!!!
