Christmas Eve 2005...Is it Time???
Hmmm...well it is Christmas Eve and we went to the hospital yesterday were they assured us that you were not on your way yet even though I thought you were. Christmas Eve is a big tradition in our family and everyone from both sides of the family get together to eat, visit and exchange gifts. Earlier today your grammie, Aunt Holly and I went to lunch and then had pedicures. I really needed one...everyone at the salon kept asking me when my due date was. 'Today' I kept replying. Everyone was amazed I was even out!
We also took the doggies Frankie and Munchkin for a short walk when we first got home.
I tried my hardest to stay active and in fact had even went dancing the prior Saturday after your daddy's work Christmas party.
Well, we returned home and I still thought I didn't feel right, but they had assured me I wasn't in labor only 24 hours before and I swore we would not return to the hospital until we were positive it was time.
As the family started to gather at the house and a few friends also stopped by I decided to put a movie in. Christmas Vacation staring Chevy Chase is a Christmas classic. I bent over to put the DVD in the player and when I stood back up...whoosh!!! Oh my, I sheepishly made my way to our bedroom where I stayed for a good 20 minutes because I swore we were not going back to the hospital unless it was time. I finally called the doctor who advised us to go to the hospital.
I make my appearance and announce to all that we needed to leave. Matt Buffo just couldn't believe it! All he kept saying is 'Now, your in labor now!" Your dad was much cooler about the whole situation. We left the family behind with a promise to call once we heard anything. They came down soon there after on their own. At one point everyone was in the room....staring at me!
As I waited for your dad to back the car out of the garage our neighbor asked how everything was going and I informed her that we were going to the hospital. She too was amazed! Funny...
After getting to the hospital for the second time they still thought I wasn't ready, but then oh my it was time! Before I knew it I was hooked up to drips and lines, beeps and whistles.
Well, needless to say you were well on your way. That was at about 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and you were born at 5:19 the next morning.
