Oh My, What Big Teeth You Have!
Today was my first visit to one of the most dreaded places on earth...the dentist!
I was suppose to have my first exam by my first birthday, as the receptionist told my mommy, 'I was well overdo for a checkup' as I near my second birthday! Who knew?
There is a pediatric dentist just up the street from our house. He had a really fun office. He had a cool table that was a chalk board and a Star Wars Mr. Potato Head. I even tried the Vader hat on myself. Dr. Murphy was very nice. He met with my parents first to talk about my oral hygiene and the food and drink I'm used to getting. He gave my parents awesome news that my last four teeth to appear will be absolutely 100% pain free...wink, wink. This translated into they are going to really hurt and just be prepared mom and dad...fabulous for all involved.
Then came the examination portion of the appointment. The chair was awesome when it was going up and down. When it started to go back I lost my nerve and wanted my daddy. Mommy of course was taking pictures. Dr. Murphy said I was completely normal for questioning the strange chair and not wanting to lay back. So, I faced my daddy and then leaned back onto the doctor's lap. This was a little more comforting, but still wasn't super excited. Dr. Murphy gave my teeth a good once over, cleaned and polished them. The exam was finished with a paint on fluoride that tasted like cherry. Then I got a new Go Diego Go toothbrush and a giant 'Cars' sticker. By the time we left the office I was giving people high fives and saying bye, bye dentist. I was very brave and next time (in six months) will be much easier. Be good to your teeth and they will be good to you!
