OMG...Did Jake really Just say that!!!

For the past two years you have read about Jake's activities through Jake's eyes. There have only been a couple of times that you have heard from Jake’s 'parents' on the blog. Well, this is going to be one of those times.

Tonight at dinner Jake announced to me that 'Mommy is a poopy-head'! Now, this took my by surprise. One because I’m shocked he can even form a sentence like that and two because where has he heard the term ‘poopy-head’. Of course he laughed when he said this, and coyly looked at me as if he knew he might get into a bit of trouble for the comment, but didn't really mind. I on the other hand immediately flashed back to a moment in kindergarten, during recess, when Cody French called me a poopy-head. This of course was followed by him trying to flip up my skirt, with that same coy smile. Gosh, even at five men have the strangest ways of getting your attention.
I then suddenly snapped out of my walk down memory lane and realized that my toddler son had just called me a ‘poopy-head’, and was totally laughing about it. The age old question of ‘is this a punishable offense’ arose. Ultimately, I couldn’t help but smile when it hit me that ‘poopy-head’ must be a universal term of endearment. Having a child reminds you so often that it wasn’t that long ago you were calling the people you liked such things as ‘poopy-heads’, then girlfriends/boyfriends, and then wives/husbands. It made me laugh to think of Jake going from calling his mommy a ‘poopy-head’ to a little girl on the play-ground a poopy-head.
How could I be upset that he called me such a vulgar name when heck, all guys seem to do it at some point, and it is just to attract someone’s attention. I don’t think my son really thinks I’m a poopy-head, or maybe he does. That makes it all the more funny. Try and get a visual on that...funny huh?
So, I ask you with two days left till Valentine’s Day; who is your ‘poopy-head’?

PS I did explain to him that it isn't nice to call people poopy-heads.
