Heading to the Cabin in Yosemite
After a tearful (on my mom's part) goodbye at school, we started our trek to Yosemite for the weekend. My daddy's good friend Matt has a friend who owns a cabin not to far out of the Yosemite Valley in Groveland CA. On the advice of Matt's brother Brian, we took a very scenic yet scary State Route 4. The road was very windy and at one point what was a two lane road was unlined, barely paved, and super narrow, but it was supposedly a 'two lane' road. Thankfully it was a quiet road and isn't even cleared in the wintertime, so we didn't have any problems.
The windy roads didn't stop there. Everything which lead to Groveland and Yosemite was windy and with steep grades. I even got carsick on the way to Yosemite. That was a first in my 3.5 years of life. Poor Margo and Matt sitting next to me. We had to take a different road in because of a fire. It was windy and I puked about halfway there. The fire started as a controlled burn that quickly turned out of control. So it was pretty hazy and very warm. We did get to see some cool helicopter action which made it all worth it.
The cabin was fun and it was great to hang out with Margo and Matt. The place has a huge yard and I played baseball and tore around. We were all very tired after a whirlwind couple of days of primarily being in the car and had a wonderful dinner the last night at the cabin. I even enjoyed a beer with Matt and daddy. Okay, before you call CPS on my parents it was an washed out beer bottle filled with my favorite drink of choice...milk! No actual beer just the bottle, but boy, did I think I was a hot stuff!!!
