Funny Pictures
My generation will have their entire lives documented for them. My friends and I will have our lives lived through an open book of digital and social mediums. Never will we have to wonder about missing pictures. I will have my voice as a toddler on video. I will have the crazy things which I did as a baby easily brought out when I bring home my first girlfriend.
My parents, between the two of them, have a collective 20 pictures documenting their childhood, all on fading yellow photo paper, or Polaroid pics that didn't quite develop right (okay grandparents the number of pictures is probably more than that, but I needed the number 20 for effect, you can't deny the yellowing, underdeveloped prints) and I have over 5,000. Yes, 5,000 pictures and countless videos documenting my first four years.
Plus, I write this blog with my mommy's help so that when I'm 32 and have kids of my own, I will be able to look back and tell them what I was up to at their age.
My point to all this is our life is an open book, usually portrayed in the most positive and shiny light possible. Nobody wants to see pictures of babies crying or people not having fun, but when we look back we will only see the best moments of life, even when it takes 5 to 50 shots to make it appear that way, even when the memory isn't as positive as the photo that goes along with it. My case in point are the following photos. My mommy wanted a picture of all her boys at Easter, and it took three shots just to get one that is halfway decent. The halfway decent photo is then what is posted all over the web, portraying our fabulous Easter. The true picture of the moment, will be kept, but never spoken of, even though hilarious.
The true moment was one tired baby on the brink of screaming, one little boy wondering what damage he could cause with 'blue bunny", and one daddy who is just concerned about losing an eye.
Life is messy, life can be difficult, but thankfully we have mommies who only put the best photo forward for us to remember our life by.
