I Stood Up All by Myself Today!!!

What a busy weekend!

Sunday morning while playing a song for my mommy on my new piano I decided I would just stand right up without any help at all. I have been trying to stand for a couple of weeks now, but when I realize I'm standing by myself I plop down with a very puzzled look on my face, but not today! I stood for quite a long time and then I did it again from a sitting position about 3 times.

Watch out parents....I'm 3 seconds from walking!!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!! Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

Today, my parents and I hosted my very First Birthday Party at our new home. About 35 people including my Papa and grandma Karen and autie Bailey from Palm Springs joined to help me celebrate my big day! My actual birthday isn't for a couple of more weeks, but it is close enough to have a party. My mommy and daddy went all out to throw me a very cool 'Puppy' themed party! I had a banner with my name on it and lots and lots of bright colored balloons and streamers. I even had a blow up birthday cake in the front yard!

My daddy prepared pizza and my mommy baked my cake and cut cheese into dog bones and PB&J sandwiches into little doggies. We also enjoyed 'ants on a log' or celery, peanut butter and rasins and crakers.

Besides the cake that mommy made for me, my daddy ordered a Seseame Street cake. I didn't have any of that, but my guests sure enjoyed it. There wasn't a piece left!!!

I had so many presents and everyone was so generous! I got a really cool little car with flames on it to strole around on from my Aunt Holly and Evan and I also got a remote control car, bouncing tigger, 'Jacob's Room' plaque, baby grand piano, portable booster seat for the dining room table, alphabet pal and a tool box just to name a few.

We had some games like: What time was Jacob born (Joe Conforti won) he guessed within 2 minutes of 5:19 a.m., How many doggie treats in the container (Joleen Nemeth won) with guessing within 3 of the 55 in the container, What can and can't Jacob do right now (My grandma Donna won) she got all 34 right and finally the egg game! Everyone cracked an egg on their head. All the eggs were hardboiled except one, but really they were all hardboiled. Rachel Conforti was the last to crack the egg on her head and was such a good sport because she was sure that she had the bum egg that she won a prize!!!

Everybody who was at the party signed a photo mat that my mommy made and my first birthday picture will go in very soon!

I was very tired after cake and really had to take a nap after getting cleaned up, but the party went on without me! I'm a little tyke and having so many faces was a little overwhelming, but after my nap I was ready to rock some more!

My party was about 2 hours long, but some guests stayed later and it was really fun to visit and then show off my new toys.

Thanks daddy and mommy for such a great day with great and generous friends and family!!!!

I Give Thanks!!!! Happy Thanksgiving...

Today I celebrated my first Thanksgiving and that means that it is only a few short weeks until I turn one on Christmas Day! Can you believe it!!!!

I remember Thanksgiving last year in my mommy's belly. I was getting big and cramped in there so when she ate all that food, I made sure to let her know I didn't appreciate it! I think we all my have enjoyed this Thanksgiving Day feast a bit more...

The day started with me hanging out with my mommy and daddy. We then took an adventure to my Grandma and Grandpa's house in Carson City where my Grammie and NoNo came to visit along with family friends Keith, Jolynn, Lyndsey, Jake and Nita. We watched a lot of football...Go Cowboys! My grandpa cooked a massive beast in a big black pot. It took two of them to get the beast in the pot. The turkey went in very pale and came out a nice golden brown. I was very amazed with this whole process. With the turkey we had ham, green beans, yams, rolls, peas, corn, cranberries, salad and stuffing. As you can see from my picture, I had a nice helping of everything. It was sooooooo yummy! I wasn't able to have any dessert because I was napping when that part came around, but I was happy to be at the table enjoying Thanksgiving dinner.

That night I had my 'Tom Turkey' My Firtst Thanksgiving PJ's on. I was very tired from visiting, eating and playing all day long.

When my mommy and daddy put me snuggly in my bed they said they were thankful for me, but really, I must admit that I'm thankful for them and all my family that loves me so very much and takes such great care of me!

JDR for President...The Best Choice for Babies Everywhere!

Not only am I in a college setting at the tender age of 10 months, but I have decided to run for President of the United States in 2008!!!

JDR has a nice ring to it if you ask me.

As you can see I'm starting my campaign early. I'm wearing bibs to announce my candidacy and I'm meeting with my constitutes. Giving out lots of 'High 5's', 'Kissies', waving 'Bye, Bye', and clapping my hands, a real crowd pleaser.

You might be asking yourself what are the main points of 'JDR in 2008':

First, the right for all babies big or small to put what they want in their mouth with no consequence.

If I'm elected not only will there be more snacking on whatever the heck we want edible or not, but I promise that never again will we have to eat mashed up food from a jar especially anything that was beef, poultry, or fish before entering the jar. No longer will babies have a nap time or receive any food that isn't the perfect temperature. Never will we have to share a favorite toy and drooling will be open season. If I'm elected we will finally be free to wear our drool loud and proud without fear of mommy's and daddy's following closely behind to wipe it up or change our shirts. Last but not least I will do away completely with any diaper that isn't manufactured to immediatly absorb any and all waste. Of course this would include the cloth diaper!

As you can see I'm the best choice for babies everywhere!!!

I Think I Can...I Think I Can...I Think I Can

Here is me with my favorite new toy...choo, choo!
It is an early birthday present from my NoNo. My daddy brought it home and as you can see from the picture I'm quite smitten. I can sit and rock in my choo, choo or it is the perfect height for me to practice standing and walking. I really like to bite the stack of Choo, Choo... I insisted on having it my room when I went to bed so I could see if from my crib.

Happy Halloween!!!

Today I'm celebrating my first Halloween. My mommy came home a few weeks ago with a big fluffy thing that sort of looked like my puppy and proceeded to put it on me. Turns out the big fluffy thing was a lion costume. Well, I'm really not sure what to make of it, but my mommy and daddy dressed me in it for some professional Halloween photos. My lion photo was entered into a costume contest by the photo studio, so who knows, I could win someone over with my cuddly lion costume.
Today at school we had a parade. They took all of us little creatures, pirates and goblins over to the main college campus to parade us around. We then had a small Halloween party with just the little guys in my room, Aidan and Bella.

I came home with a bag of goodies that my mommy wouldn't let me have...I really don't understand it...I just want a taste! She told me next year! In school we also did some finger painting and made a pumkin both of which we got to bring home and my mommy and daddy are proudly displaying my art work on the fridge.

After my dinner I helped my mommy pass out candy to some children. They all looked so silly. I didn't know what to make of it really. I saw a little guy about the same size as me in a dinosaur costume.
We didn't get to carve the pumpkin tonight since it took my mommy over an hour to get me home. Something about an accident. All I know is I was sick and tired of being in that seat. I guess I will have something to look forward to next year.

Then we went out in the cold and I really didn't care much for that. I had a small basket that had something about Christmas on it, my mommy forgot to get me a pumkin candy holder. She kept telling my daddy to turn the basket around so the Christmas thing didn't show.

We went to one house for a small taste of what I should love later in life..Trick or Treating. Our friends Melodie and Ryan live a block over so we all took a small walk to their house. It was fun, but I was tired and really ready for a tubby and then night, night!

Lucy, I'm Home!

Well after 7 long months our new house is final finished. It was actually finished about a month ahead of schedule so that was nice.

We spent about 7 weeks in Carson City with my Grandma, Grandpa, GG and Bonnie Dog! It was a lot of fun and honestly the first night in our new home I didn't sleep really well because I missed everyone and everything was so new, but each night I get more used to my wonderful crib and my new room.

My Papa and Grandma Karen came all the way up from Palm Springs, CA to help with the move and for my Papa to do some little extras with my daddy.

My mommy and daddy worked really hard on getting my room completly together so I would feel less out of place when I arrived. Both my parents have been working really hard this past week to unpack, paint and make our new house a home.

I have plenty of space to crawl and plenty of things to get into trouble with. We have a fireplace and that is new. I have never really seen fire before. I have actually only seen it once since my parents thought it was dangerous. Actually I think it was more of my mommy thought it was dangerous.
I have a whole bathroom to myself that my mommy of course decorated with duckies! I love it. They keep my completely entertained during bath time!

All and all I miss my grandparents, but I'm happy to have a home and getting settled again!
